OUR CLUB WEEKEND
Firstly, a very huge thank you to all those who came to join in the fun at our Club Weekend and to share in my birthday celebrations. It was lovely to see you all again and to have so much fun with everyone.
We very much wanted this Club Weekend to take on a very different format from previous fan club parties - it was time for a bright new change - and it was MOST DEFINITELY just that - very different ! We have never laughed, danced or had so much fun or such little sleep ! It was BRILLIANT !!! Many thanks to Sarah - our hostess (will send you some photos Sarah !!) and the hotel staff for making our stay so enjoyable and of course to our entertainment for the whole weekend ! The Club Weekend started on Friday meeting and greeting everyone, coffee and lunch. After dinner in the evening, we were entertained with Cliff and Shadows music as well as a variety of great music from other well known artists. We also had a comedian. 'Happy Birthday' was sung twice to me during the weekend, firstly by our Friday entertainer and then our Saturday night artists. A birthday card for me was also signed by all the artists. Our final evening was spent with many songs old and not so old, and ended up with a late night 'disco' until the early hours. Guests spent the weekend shopping and on the beach and visiting places nearby. Our Saturday night artists gave us many memories from the 60's and some of our guests dressed in 60's outfits. The 60's outfit competition was won by Sanni who travelled all the way from Finland with her parents (all Club members) to be there and who made her own outfit (Jackie Kennedy style!) ! Well done Sanni. The Lucky Number draw for the Club's Charity - Water Aid - was won by Rena. Sanni won a 60's CD and Rena won a Soul Sensations CD. All guests were given a 'thank you' gift for attending our first (of many !!) Club Weekend.
My birthday cake was cut and shared amongst everyone on Saturday evening. I would like to thank everyone very much for all the cards and gifts for my birthday and all the support you have shown me, not just over the weekend, but since the new Club and website began and especially since last September. Watch this space (as they say.......) We already have exciting plans in mind for 2008 !!! Please see the next two pages for some great photos of the weekend !
